Class Descriptions


Baby Peas— 6 weeks - 1 year olds

 

Gross Motor Skills

We will work on basic movements to get them from crawling to walking such as tummy time, walkers, and some light activities appropriate for each age.

Fine Motor Skills

Sounds, songs, and textures will be introduced to your baby to start developing or further develop your baby with his/her growth with touches and handling.

Language and Care

Reading and speaking play a big role in your child’s constant growth. We encourage your child to mimic and try to use words on a daily basis just to promote speech from an early age.

Things Your Child Will Need

Diapers, wipes, clothes, food, and mixed milk.(formula and water in bottles in a lunchbox) We are legally not allowed to mix by law of the state of GA and Bright from the Start. We also do not take diaper bags! All your child’s belongings will be stored in a storage basket and will be asked to b restocked when needed.

 

SweetPeas— 1- 2 years old

 

The next step to becoming independent starts here! We will be moving to a more structured classroom setting while still having fun! We begin to really get into our letters, shapes, and numbers while also picking up Spanish words and ASL. We will also begin our journey with potty training!

Daily activities

Our daily activities include essentials such as learning the alphabet , numbers , and colors but we will also include Spanish immersion and ASL. We will also be incorporating stem/steam activities.

Potty Training

Potty training is crucial in this stage. We will be learning when we need to go and how to go. With the parents help, we will be potty trained by the end of the year!

 

Peer group activities

We will learn how to play and communicate with our peers safely and respectfully. Peer activities are key to building relationships, understanding about ourselves , and how to express ourselves.

 

Multiculturalism

We will be visiting seven countries this year to learn about language, holidays, culture and food.


Preschool— 3 - 5 year olds

 

Our learning center offers preschool to children 3-5 years old. This program is designed to help children and parents get accustomed to Columbia county schools schedule and introduces a variety of reinforced activities to enter kindergarten. We incorporate standard teaching practices to meet their milestones but we also offer all lessons with Spanish and Sign Language.

 

Language/Communication

We work away from the safe baby words and gravitate towards big kid words!We help your child build up their vocabulary and go beyond the baseline. We work on comprehension and how to communicate in their daily lives.

Self Help Skills

With self help skills we work on them being able to accomplish task on their own from start to finish. We work with them to help them be able to understand the order of basic tasks i.e getting ready in the morning, teeth cleaning, etc. We also help with being able to properly express themselves by giving safe alternatives to work through emotions.

Fine Motor Skills

Fine motor skills in this age group we promote handling tools in hands and doing projects that require handling different objects.

Kindergarten Readiness

We get your child ready to enter big kid school. We ensure they have all the tools needed to tackle this change to the best of their ability with understanding of themselves, their skills, and behavior.

 

Before/AfterSchool — School age up to 12 years old ( currently only doing aftercare)
